Vote Scott Maciosek for Cloverland Town Chairman
My family and I moved here in 1995 for my job as the maintenance technician for Spectrum. My wife and I decided to call Cloverland our home because we wanted to raise our daughter in an atmosphere that was friendly and had all the beauty that the Town of Cloverland has to offer residents and visitors. For 30 years, my wife and I have proudly called Cloverland our home and we enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the Northwoods and have remained here year around enjoying the winter months just as much as we enjoy the summers here.
I have served on the Town Board since I was elected in 2001 as a Town Supervisor and then in 2005, I was elected by the Town Board to fill the Chairman vacancy created by Don Freitag who favored me to take over his position.
I believe in a government of the people, by the people, and most importantly for the people. As Chairman, I have always governed with my beliefs in mind. I have consistently voted to keep taxpayer costs down, conducted government business transparently, and have maintained honesty and integrity at all times all the while providing the highest quality of services for the town residents and visitors. I have always returned every telephone call that I have received.
It has been an honor to serve as your Town Chairman and I am asking for your vote on April 1, 2025.
I govern for what is best for all people of Cloverland, not just a few with special interests.
Some of my Accomplishments
1. Residents requested that the Town Board hold morning meetings at 11 am instead of 7 pm and since then, we have more people come to our meetings.
2. I worked with the Department of Transportation to certify all of the roads to make the speed pmits on them legal.
3. The Town was putting money away for closure of the Landfill and that money was not needed so I asked the residents what to do with the money and they voted to construct a new town hall.
4. I successfully passed a motion to allow the residents to use the town hall for free with the only requirement being a deposit for having a key until they return the key to get their money back.
5. I am here all year around and call the highway department before 5 am to ensure our roads are plowed quickly when we receive an inch or more of snow. My oponent leaves the area for 3 months every year from January to April and the Town Chairman is the only one that can order the roads plowed and sanded.
6. I repaired areas of the town roads that were dangerous to make all of our roads safe for residents and visitors.
7. I found a company to do the official GPS for all driveways and homes for a savings of 250,000 dollars less than the lowest bid so that first responders can find the locations when people need help.
8. I am working to find grant money for replacement of a culvert that is estimated to cost a lot more than normal.
9. I hold every meeting in accordance with the Wisconsin Open Meetings law requirements.
10. I started a program to cut every tree out of the road right of way that is leaning or dying that would fall on the road and impede traffic.
